INTERIORS
We are all aware of our landscape and our interior and our commitment to being a steward to this landscape and interior we rest into. I am fascinated with forgotten farmhouse interiors- older heirloom objects placed in contrast with new objects. This forms a new dialogue for both objects when placed together to explore light, color, and composition.
BARNS & BUILDINGS
The abstract and representational pieces I paint come from agricultural landscapes particularly barns, clapboard homes, farms, and shingled cottages. Places that create a sense of meaningful place. I am drawn to the flat planes of landscape shapes, exploring color and composition and the study of changing my paintings over time.
TRURO LANDSCAPES
My experience at Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill Edgewood Farm Artist in Residency deepened my commitment to a sense of place. These pieces are about community. I had the ability to walk through Truro, Wellfleet, and capture the themes of landscape, forgotten buildings, color, and explore mindful placement. I am particularly fascinated when a certain color has historic meaning which is important in my painting and documentation.

“I am fascinated by yard sales and older furniture that you find placed outside in the landscape as if it was forgotten. These types of landscapes take on new meaning and new shapes over time.“
